More than 30 folders

I would like a much higher limit (or no limit at all) of the amount of folders. I want to be able to sort amp or pedal manufacturer and then the respective model in subfolders and 30 folders is way too low to be able to do this

Amen! I love the new folders so much, but I have a ton of stuff from Amalgam and I just did an entire structure with main/top level folders being amp brand (Fender/Marshall/Vox) etc. and subfolders in those for each amp model. Plus a pedal capture top level folder as well.

I am ok for the moment but I can tell itā€™s gonna get hairy. I get they are expecting us to use the filtering system, which is fantastic, but I am super OCD about file structure and like to find things by navigation.

Alsoā€¦ not sure if its a bug or a feature but it would be nice to be able to sort the folders alphabetically in the directory (right now it just piles them downward as you add).

Another OCD here :raised_hand:t3:

this was another of those ā€˜featuresā€™ that took so long to implement I lost interest in them and just stuck with the workaround: the Search function.
Now my Search function isnā€™t working since the update and Iā€™m starting to look into this folder hierarchy option againā€¦

And itā€™s another one of those features that only got implemented half-assedā€¦ ā€œHere you get the simplest way we could imagine to implement what you requested instead of a thoroughly thought out solutionā€

PCOM seems like one of the few rollouts thatā€™s everything it could and should be (other than having to implement in batches) Maybe theyā€™ll revisit some of the ā€˜workaroundā€™ QoL features eventually and whip 'em into shape (hybrid mode, Global cab bypass, folder hierarchy, etc)

Absolutely. 30 folders is too small for up to 2000 captures if you want to keep them organized in an easy to use format. How about you bump it to 300 and go from there.

I agree with all the prior comments; this seems like an arbitrary limitation. I first ran into this when trying to upload and organize my IRs. It is interesting that the limits are managed separately for IRs and captures; I was still able to add folders to the capture section even though I hit the limit on the IR section.

I thought this was a bug at first. I tried rebooting my QC, restarting and updating Cortex Control, changing the names/nesting. It turns out the limitation is disclosed on page #31 of the QC user manual. Really, page 31!? Is that irony, or are they just trolling us?
