More song-specific presets

Playing in a coverband I would appreciate to find more song-specific presets in the Cortex Cloud.

On Stage I’m normally using the Scene-Modus - changing presets via Yamaha-Midiadapter with Forscore-App on my ipad for the respective song.
That’s why I prefer song-specific presets. I know and appreciate this principle from the Nord User Forum, where you can find great presets for individual songs and save a lot of time editing sounds.

Doesn’t this make sense for the Quad Cortex too? More song specific presets in the cortex cloud would be helpful in my opinion.

I can see the benefit. I have presets named after artists and some songs but not everyone works the same way unfortunately.

You can find my first song-specific presets in Cloud Cortex (under my user name “wrudolf”)

Claro que si, the more song specific presets, the better. And just let me make one more observation. I don’t understand why there is no way to comment on a preset. We are living in a world where social media rules and everything can be commented. Sometimes this is not so good, but in a lot of other cases this is really helpful. Take a look at the AxeFX Forum where the users can post their presets and then everybody can say thank you and leave his comments. Another thing that is pretty strange is that you can not upload modified presets to the cloud. I would like to share some of my presets, but I did nothing from scratch. They are all modified. I highly respect the creative effort of other people and I don’t want to hijack presets from other users. I just think that the way this is handled until now is too extreme. Take a look at other modeling devices like Fractal, Kemper, Helix they they have no problem with modified presets. I think if you publish a modified preset and tell everybody where it came from then this shouldn’t be a problem if it’s not a commercial preset. I don’t know if I have missed a point, but you also cannot directly contact the author of a preset. Sometimes it is nice to discuss a preset with the author. Maybe I am dumb, but I would like to thank for example the author of the only Zappa Preset which can be found until now in the Cortex Cloud, but I can not find him, but I could with one mouse click report about him!? How ridiculous is that. So what…? Please don’t get me wrong. I like the sounds which come out of the Quad Cortex a lot, but sharing presets should be improved in Cortex Cloud.

Hopefully they’ll add that ability eventually. Previously there was a sort of rating system, now there’s only the ‘popularity’ filter to sort by number of DLs. It’d definitely be nice to be able to share ratings or info or observations on the cloud content.

zappafrank, you speak from my soul. Exactly the same points go through my head. Especially the missing possibility to set even extremely modified presets is excessive for me. Why should one not further develop good presets and post the modified variant (of course with indication of the original author) again for all users. I’m sure that the vast majority of the Cloud Cortex user community would welcome such a change. In the already mentioned by me Nord User Forum sounds are improved and developed in the constant exchange and communication of users. And everyone benefits from this.

Concerning the missing rating and commenting possibility, I would also have one more point to make: Why can’t I see how often my own presets/captures have been downloaded. To have at least some feedback.

You can see your DL totals on the newly updated app, but not thru a browser

I had hoped to make some all-inclusive Band presets that had signature bass and guitar tones but I never followed thru; I don’t know if that’d be of any interest to anyone. I thought it’d be cool but I’m not sure how many users are putting the whole band thru the QC. Still might do it anyway for myself

This guy on Youtube is doing great work. Check it out if you’re into metal.

I am not interested in Bass Tones, but in song-specific presets for 80s Rock, Funk, Jazz Rock and everything Zappa.

I just uploaded my first preset to the cloud. It is a song specific preset  for Apostrophe by Frank Zappa. It has a rather soft Fuzz Tone from a Fuzz Pedal capture that I liked a lot.

thank you for your zappa preset; I just have downloaded your preset- sounds good; wonderful fuzz pedal;:+1:for the Bat Rabid mammal my strat needs a little bit adaptive gate noise reduction

I have uploaded a new version with adaptive gate. It is dead silent now :grinning:Thank you for reminding me. I should have done this before.

I just made another Zappa Preset because this Forum really needs more Zappa Stuff

Is this a suggestion to other users on how to name their presets?
I see that very often people are rather sharing band-specific or album-specific tones.
It would also be cool if NDSP added an artist/song field in their presets, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Is that what you were suggesting? In that case, that would be a feature request.

First of all, my post was meant as a suggestion to the users to upload more presets, with song specific names and sounds. Your idea that NSDP added an artist/song field in their presets would be great of course.

I have about 30 song-specific presets but I doubt the rules would let me share them so I haven’t bothered. Sucks.

I know the problem; why don’t they adjust the rules so that property protection is preserved, but people who are willing to share their presets and help each other here on the forum can do so?

Nonetheless, my first song-specific preset:
How you remind me (Nickelback) (User name wrudolf)

Scene Mode: Scene E: Clean Mode (verse) - Scene F: Clean Mode + Tremolo (for end of verse) - Scene G: Lead Sound for Chorus.

Notice: Be careful with the volume! I play with only 60 % with the volume control

If they are on the cloud, feel free to post a link to your account.
