MIDI Clock / Global External Tempo and Tempo Sync Support

For use cases with tempo synced delays, the lack of MIDI Clock support, along with tempo sync is a real bummer.

This would really be a few discrete features for it to be useful:

  • support for a concept of tempo, globally
  • the ability to sync the delay time to this tempo
  • support for setting this tempo externally either via:
    • MIDI clock
    • external expression switch
    • MIDI CC reserved for setting the tempo

Personally, I am most interested in a global concept of tempo that can exist across preset changes. The NanoCortex’s four switches map nicely to a Clean/OD1/OD2/Pad setup, and I would really just like to be able to tap tempo across those presets.

If they are going to add tempo it would be trivial to allow blocks to be turned on and off via MIDI, expression via MIDI. People are using MIDI, why not make them more functional.
