i’m looking to purchase a quad cortex in the near future, and i plan to use it as my interface. as far as i can tell it has no internal loopback functions to record audio from ur desktop back into your daw, and u have to use 3rd party software.
To be explicitly clear, you mean recording a track or some audio directly into the QC, and then transferring it to a DAW afterward?
I think this is what you are asking for.
Make sure the channels 7+8 of the QC are set as the default Playback device in the Sound settings of the Control Panel:
- Play a video on your computer or any other sound source. You should see the IN 7/8 meters moving in the I/O settings of the USB port.
- If that’s working, open your DAW, create a new stereo track, and select Output USB 7+8 (from grid) as the input of the track.
- Finally, on the QC, go to an empty preset, set the input of the first row to USB Input 7+8 and the output to USB Output 7+8. Now the signal should be going through the track you created in your DAW.
