Hi!
I’m looking at potentially ordering a Quad Cortex, which I’m hoping will replace my Kemper Stage (which I’m very happy with but am considering moving simply due to the smaller size/weight on the Quad Cortex).
Before purchasing I need to check it will do what I need it to do.
I play across 2 bands - each band has about 30 songs, and is stands I have 1x bank per each song on the Kemper, and then I use up to 5 different presets per song.
I’m very happy with my Kemper tones, and am keen not to start from scratch if moving to QC, so to save time, my intention is to ‘capture’ all of my Kemper individual presets onto the QC.
I’d hugely appreciate anyone’s advice on how best to set this up so that I can use the QC in the same way as I was for Kemper – as there appears to be a couple of options:
-
Stomp mode.
Would it be possible on QC to use a different bank per ‘song’ and then simply apply my different ‘captured’ Kemper sounds by assigning each capture to a different stomp pedal? This would only work for me if it was possible if every time I ‘stomp’ to a new captured sound, it can deactivate the previous stomp sound that was activated (as it won’t work if they stack on top of each other). Essentially I need to be able to switch between captures with just 1 button press - Is that possible? -
Scene mode
Alternatively would I need to set up the QC in Scene mode with a bank per song, add all of my Kemper captures to the 8 blocks, and then select them/deactivate them in this mode?
Finally, I’m a little confused by the capacity of the QC. Given the number of songs I have to play across the 2 bands, am I right in thinking the best way to do this would be have 1x setlist per band, and then that will allow me to have up to 32 songs per setlist?
Really appreciate anyone’s guidance with this - thank you!
