Describe your issue:
When I load up an IR block, the default IRs that were set before updating to V3.0.0 are missing.
Steps to reproduce your issue:
Click/tap on the grid on any preset
Add an IR block
See that the IR block has a warning and that the default IRs are marked as missing.
I expected this to happen:
When I add an IR block, I expect the default values to include the IR files.
I have tried the following things:
I have tried going back to a preset using my default IR Block settings and setting this as the defaults - this fixes the issue going forward. Adding an IR block after this works as expected.
I have the same problem, I thought that it was because I deleted and ‘reloaded’ all my IRS in the new folder/subfolder structure…
The strange thing is that even if the IR loaded block display a ‘warning’ icon, and mention the missing IR File , the file is indeed present , I simply had to reselect it it everything was ok… (but it would be tedious if you have a lot of preset using IRs…)
Strangely, some of my IRs are recognized , while others aren’t …
The new folder structure acts like a ‘virtual file system’ , but in reality all the uploaded IRs are (or ‘should be’) physically stored in the ‘IR Library’ (the very top node of the structure).
The folder/subfolder structure is merely a virtual filesystem containing symbolic links to the ‘real’ IRs files (stored in the flat ‘IR Library’), it is only a way for us to quickly find what we want…
But there might be something wrong in the upload process from Cortex Control because :
I uploaded my first set of IRs by dragging the file in the ‘IR Library’ , and from this IR LIbrary folder, I drag’n’droped those files into a subfolder. (and I think that’s why some of my presets are still recognizing the IR files)
Since it way tedious to select , drag-drop specific files from the IR Library onto other subfolders, I changed the way I uploaded them into my QC:
I first created my subfolder, then clicked on its name, and dropped my IR files directly into the ‘subfolder’. I double-checked that the IR Files were in reality still available from the top node ‘IR Library’, and it is indeed the case !
But I suspect that those IR files are no longer directly recognized by the IR block in my Presets !
That’s dumb, because it should not matter if you drag an IR file into the ‘IR Library’ and then create the link to it into a subfolder, or drag an IR file directly into the subfolder (it should add the IR file into the IR Library and create the same link as in the first method….)
This gives me some comfort. This issue as a whole could be a nightmare for some. Makes me wonder about preset management as well (folder system updates). Please follow up your findings.
