I would like to have an internal Capture feature. What I mean with this is the following. If you go to this feature it opens up a grid and you can place ODs, Amps and Cabinets/IR and the QC captures the output of this grid. This way you can merge your sound into one single capture and reduce CPU cost of your preset. You also could easily realise 2 or even 3 amp setups, just place your amps, dial in the tone you like and capture it.
Rabea has this series, High Gain Harmony, where he combined various plugins eg Granophyre and Gojira and made some massive tones. Doing that on the QC and additionally adding a clean amp on the grid costs a lot of CPU, merging the high gain amps into one capture and adding them in a preset + another clean amp would cost way less CPU.
If you have both Quad and Nano Cortex you could use these same sounds on both devices (yes I know that you can capture the Quad with the Nano, but it would be way easier with this method).
The Disadvantage is that this doesn’t work for stereo sounds (one hard panned left, one hard panned right).
Another advantage would be to take your favourite unboosted capture and merge it with an OD to boost it and then loading it on the Nano. As there is no od block on the Nano this would help I think.
I hope you like that idea
Not trying to be snarky, but… The QC already has so much CPU available. Is CPU use that much of a problem that it needs a solution like this?
Yes it is really powerful but if you try to combine two amps for rhythm/lead sounds and an additional amp for clean, od, transpose and various FX it already gets complicated. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. But it’s not just that, I recently saw a video of someone creating a John Mayer 3 amp setup and I thought it would be cool to create your own sounds by merging various amps together. But that’s just my opinion and I thought I should share it. And I don’t think that it would be too complicated to implement in the QC, it would just work by capturing the output of the grid…
I think you’re essentially asking for the same thing as this previous Feature Request with quite a few votes. I remember Doug or someone official mentioning it as a possibility to implement
Yes, seems like that. Didn’t know that, it’s my first post in this forum and I came here for this request.
Cool to know that they think about it! Thanks!
