I need a TesseracT Tone

Has anyone reproduced Tesseract’s Acle or James Tone on Quad Cortex?
I’m trying to reproduce it with the Mesa Dual Rectifier amp model, but it doesn’t get a close Tone.
Please let me know if you have any recommended amps or settings!

So first, I’m not using the Quad Cortex, I’m using Neural plugins. Although, I think I’ll be able to give you some advices on this.

First and most important thing, it’s better to use split coils/single coil pickups, that’s what Acle is doing (check out all of his videos on ytb where je explain his tone). I am using the mingle S coil from my old Ibanez S270 (HSH) and this already give me 60% of the tone on any distortion.

Then, you will want a ton of gain (using the Archetype Nolly on amp 3 cab 2, I am at 7 on the gain) and a lot of treble. I put the presence and treble around 7, mids around 6 and bass around 5 to 6. A lot of noise gate is always better so you don’t have that heavy buzz (I’ve got it at 50%), and might as well throw some compressor in the chain (I just got that idea, I’ll test it tomorrow, it could tighten the tone).

Next, for the EQ, I guess it depends on your output hardware. Generally speaking, you’d want a nice boost around the 1.5khz and all the treble section (from 2k to 8k) and a low cut at 80/90hz and high cut at 12k. And I like to add a bit on the mids. I guess this kind of EQ would only work on my tesseract tone but it works really nice for me. Again, it depends a lot on YOUR instrument and equipment, what I am doing is not necessarily what you should do.

And for the cab sim, I’m using Angled Dyn 57 V30 pretty centered (0.1 to the left) and Angled Ribbon 121 V30 a bit off centered (0.3 to the right). It gives you the aggressiveness of the AD57V30 and the warmth/mids of the AR121V30 while still being fairly agressive.

I can’t recall if I’m using the OD1 or not, but if it’s the case, drive is at 0, tone at 5 to 6 (switch activated) and level at 5 to 6. Oh and master of the amp at 3 and output at 5. Also, if you can, add some gain on your audio interface until it gets a slight peak, then reduce it so it doesn’t peak. (Using the scarlet solo 3rd)

Or just buy the TesseracT Quad Cortex Presets Acle is selling on his website lol.

Hope this can help, it’s been years now so I might be late … of course everything I said can not necessarily be transcribed through the quad cortex but I hope you can still dial in something nice ..
