Hi!
I have gone from dipping my toes to diving in when it comes to NDSP lately. I just bought a QC about a month ago (loving it), and I have purchased the Plini and Cory Wong plugins in the last few months (also a great time).
I’ve done the trials for at least nine NDSP plugins but the Rabea X one is the only one I’ve come into any issues with.
The symptom? Every time I click something within the window, the application loads / freezes for a few seconds I’ve optimized according to NDSPs recommendations and have even tried using my Quad Cortex instead of my Focusrite Scarlett. Maybe the weirdest part is that each time I click something, I notice my Wi-fi graph on the task manager spike? I had opened it to see if maybe CPU or RAM was maxing out or something, but no, only the wi-fi graph. I went back and checked with a a couple other NDSP plugins and none of those triggered the Wi-Fi at all.
I made sure that the dang application is installed on my hard drive, and not the cloud or whatever, and I updated iLok and have kept that running as I ran the application.
To give an update here, I worked with NDSP over the past few weeks when I had time to experiment, and two things worked: using an older, non- version of the plugin, and using the DAW version. As of a day or two ago they said they’d pass this info along to the dev team to see if they have any insights. Great customer service from these guys especially considering I hadn’t even bought the plugin – yet. Several bits of the Rabea plugin, especially the synth, are really tempting me to buy it now during the birthday sale here.
One more update to this long dead thread. I’m on Windows 10. I have an MSI motherboard that installs a bit of bloatware called Nahimic by A-Volute. It’s supposed to be an audio enhancer but functinoally interferes with both games and plug-ins. I had been ignoring it, not knowing that it was causing so many problems, including this one. Uninstalling it (and the sub-programs that try to reinstall it automatically) fixed many issues for me.
