DI/EK said they will have Showcase out before the holidays. That update will also bring more new amp channels than the QC (free tier) has received since August 2023. And no, that’s not a typo. Non plugin QC owners have only received the deluxe review models for amps in the last 28 months.
Well they actually polled their customers on what they’d rather have. The Stadium launching in the fall without Showcase or later with it. During the Stadium launch event during their Helix 10yr anniversary stream, EK said Proxy was on the road map for 2026.
Can you elaborate on the features they said would be in it at launch that didn’t make it?
Line 6 has been very upfront about any adjustments on their side tbh. Even having the main guy for Helix posting about it himself. Neural just says nothing, and after months will post they’ll communicate more, then they disappear again. Honestly it’s a huge bummer. Love the QC, but amazing to see how responsive Line 6 is with their users.
What are you wanting to playing out of QC? Genuinely curious - to see if folks can help.
If not an exact model- I’m sure people here can recommend parallels already in QC.
Well to start, how about release day devices that still haven’t made it to the QC?
Mark IIC+
Interstellar & Singularity reverbs
On top of that:
Polyphonic pitch shift (and transpose)
Glitch Delays
Multi head space echo (re-201)
As for amps, is TINA that was announced in July 2024, how about we get a bunch of new amps? ENGL? REVV? More Mesa?
Regardless of QC or Stadium, I think a lot of people fall into “feature/option envy”… If one unit does something different that the the other doesn’t offer, people then think they need the product that does it. Do you really need 1500+ amps at the end of the day? Likely not. Do you need a Glitch Delay? Doubtful. So many amps, pedals, etc. all sound the same but people tend to listen with their eyes instead of their ears.
I’ll echo what was said earlier… take a look at what you have right now, and does it meet your needs? If so, be content with it. You don’t NEED the next new shiny thing. Marketing is intended to make you WANT it, and to make you think you NEED it. Don’t fall into a trap, and just play some music..
Cool, I’ll take my red panda particle 2 and HXEffects that’s set for glitch delay, cosmos echo and poly capo off my board. You definitely know what people use, how can I not agree?
and here come the internet keyboard people trying to backlash and miss the entire point….
It’s what you NEED, vs what you WANT. Is your job dependent upon having that specific Glitch Delay? I highly doubt it. Is it a nice to have? Sure! And if you like it, that’s totally cool and great! I’m not saying get rid of it, just saying take a look at what you have and what you need before jumping because of a small percentage change in value - not directed at you but at everyone that likes to jump in here and complain about everything. If you’re not happy, jump ship and stop posting on the forums.
Like I implied, what you think someone wants/needs is not what someone else wants/needs. Since I had 2 devices that do glitch delay, maybe I do need it?
Is that NDSP’s official stance on people who want more timely device updates?
now that there actually is a GLitch delay (in Mansoor X) it’ll be interesting to see if it’s released outside of the PCOM as a free device on the QC (same question for the Rabea monosynth)
Exactly! People are worried about MORE MORE MORE… just go play and stop complaining. This is why I don’t like spending a lot of time on forums…. to much negativity and “give me what I want, when I want it” without regard to how product management and development works, and the fact that we have a good sounding, and working, product with QC as it is today. There will always be someone complaining about something. Not everyone can be satisfied and often the 1% are the ones that are the loudest…
I personally have been using this thread to fight the GAS and not purchase the helix stadium. So far I’m hanging in there. Do I need it… definitely not. Do I want it… yeah kinda. Thanks for everyone’s help so far.
I keep coming back to the striking size difference and that I think would get on my nerves eventually (green is the stadium xl)
Exactly. I’m also not a fan of built in Exp Pedals. I’d like to be able to change that if something were to go wrong it, and just set up my own. I know they have the other version with out it, but it’s still larger than the QC.. and sound wise, I don’t hear anything that would make me want to change. I still think QC amp captures are better.
I don’t work for NDSP, so my stance is my own. And as you said, what YOU think someone needs/wants is not what someone else wants/needs. Just remember that your complaint may be less than 1% of the population, and as a company that’s something they have to take into consideration when spending time and resources for development.
Hi!
Just trying to see if some of this helps - for mark iic+, the jp2c is pretty close and all it needs is a bit of eq (boost higher freq a bit more and dip bass a bit) to sound identical. However, you may be having the same problem I was having trying to understand the CA MKCC+ 1 - 8 captures, like what are the setting on each?
You can go in to the Cortex Cloud app and go to NeuralDSP profile - search for MKCC+ and the have settings listed there for all of the captures. I think all the famous settings are captured.
Interstellar & Singularity - oof that’s way too specific, not sure if there is much I know about this sorry.
Transpose is available in QC to pitch shift up or down now and it works wonderfully!
Glitch delays - I don’t think there is a parallel in QC for this at all.
Space echo not exactly available, but try some chorus/flangers with reverbs or other modulations? Probably not the same but hopefully fun sounds..
I moved from a Kemper to get away from using captures. A lot of them sound awesome, but they are just not as flexible as a model. And the JP2C IS very close, I agree. You just don’t get the push/pull options you get with a IIC+. Still love my main tone from using CH2.
Those 2 reverbs are weird ones.
Transpose and pitch shifting blocks are not polyphonic, they have a lot of artifacts and those get worse the further up/down you go.
The Boss space echo is 4 tape heads, no amount of modulation can do those rhythmic effects from various combos of those 4 heads. The QC circular delay would be the closest, but it’s not the same. Still a cool delay.
Guess you’re happy with a metronome as new things to play with from the last 12 months.
And I agree on not wanting a built in expression pedal. But I barely touch the one I have on my board for the QC. As ford size of the non XL Stadium, it’s not going to be that much larger than a QC. already can’t full fit my particle 2, expression, freqoutm HXFX and QC on my board. The stadium might eliminate the need for the freqout, HXFX and particle 2. So it would be a net gain in board surface area. Too bad I’m not a fan of the Mark IV model in the Helix. Maybe they will add the IIC+ at some point.
I am, and didn’t even need or ask for that. I don’t need a bunch of flashy features or shiny things. I play, not play with ![]()
Ah I understand - I also like the Mesa plugin much better than the jp2c on board QC, but it comes close enough I guess to my ears! Also, it’s funny to me you’re in to a lot of spacey effects and your username is Darth Vader lol
Hope you find what you’re looking for friend and wish you the best in your musical journey!
This is advice from my brother who’s been a helix user for years, a quick version of what went wrong. He received the stadium xl, plugged in and played straight away and didn’t mess with anything and just went through presets.
1st was it sounded exactly the same has the helix 10 years ago within the amp models
2nd was he said the effects mostly sounded the same but the delays and reverbs sounded like they had been updated quite a bit
3rd he loved the touch screen but he felt like everything he touched adjusted something well to much more than it should of
4th half of the stuff that was told was available isnt and he has to wait (sounds a lot like neural)
5th he sent it to two cabinets through the 1/4” outputs and one side gave a really high frequency where he had to high pass that side to 4k to make it sound similar to the other cab
He sent it back due to the output problem.
In his words
, its just an updated interface version from when he purchased the original helix 10 years ago and its a joke they sell something claiming different features and they aren’t available at launch
