Hardshell case for Temple Audio solo18 with QC

Looks great! I guess you avoided the interference with the handle & wheels by adding a little more foam underneath to lift it up. Nice!

It actually came with that bottom piece of foam and it does create a flat surface for the bottom. I didn’t know for sure how it would work out because of the wheels, but with the bottom piece it’s a great fit! I still want to cut out some of the bottom for some cables, but overall pretty happy with this one. I’ll be in transit with it tomorrow for rehearsal so I better get to cutting .

Hi just looking into this as I’ve been considering the Nanuk as it’s so much cheaper. When you place it the right way up, is the lid depth not enough to fit still even on top of the wheel well?

A great cutter for cutting foam is an electric carving knife can usually be picked up for very cheap if you don’t already have one but cuts through foam like cutting through butter… don’t force it just let it do the work and you will have lovely straight clean cuts in the foam…. I should also say be careful it’s a knife so be safe

I assume you are talking about the Nanuk 935? I bought a Nanuk 935, 940, and 950. I ended up keeping the 940 and returned the other two. I still have second thoughts thinking I should have kept the 935… I probably could have made it work, and the 940, when fully loaded, is really heavy (no wheels). The 950 was way too big, like a giant suitcase.

I attached some comparison photos in my prior post above. With the 935, the SOLO18 board sits nicely down in between the handle/wheel cut-outs if you place it in upside down. Unfortunately, I did not capture a photo upright. I was able to close the lid with the SOLO18 board upright, but the bottom was touching the handle/wheel cut-outs. It probably would have been fine, and I could have used some adhesive rubber to cushion the inside of the case. As long as you order from a reputable seller, and you don’t cut the foam, you can return it if you don’t like the fit.

If you are interested, I attached CAD/STEP files of the 935 case that Nanuk support shared. You can open them in a free STEP file view and play around with various internal measurements.
