Hey everyone! (Sorry for double post, accidentally deleted the first)
I’ve been using Archetype: Tim Henson for a few years now and just bought several new ones (Plini, Gojira, and Darkglass Ultra) to add to the fleet.
I’m not having any issues with any of them outside of that faint sizzling white noise that sounds like a fan motor going a bit too hard when i use more overdriven tones, but I can cover that up for the most part (would like to solve this too eventually but not the pressing issue)
The main issue that I am having and have been unable to get around while recording is this very prominent crackling pop sound (sounds like bacon popping) that almost resembles a loose cable or a dying battery while using Darkglass Ultra. I thought it might be an issue with my actual bass guitar but the noise persists even when I run the test in settings. I’ve tried numerous different buffer sizes and sample rates to no avail. I am wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and figured out what causes this. I’m willing to bet it’s probably my Audiobox interface that is the problem (it’s kind of older and was cheap to begin with), but if this issue is able to be solved without spending additional dollars, I would like to take that route for the time being. I am probably going to upgrade interfaces eventually though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone and Happy Holidays!
