What is your favorite amp (no capture) built in for a clean funk tone, (like Nile Rodgers live)

I love the Morgan 50, also takes pedals nicely!

yeah, the Morgan is great. The Prince also is a tight, spanky amp for clean tones. I think Nile uses a Fender HR DeVille live so something from the Fender arsenal should get pretty close.

There are a few ‘Nile-ish’ presets on the cloud, those might give a few ideas too.

What about a Fender twin? Or a jazz chorus? Clean as you can get. Good luck. There’s an amp for you in there.

Nile Rodgers has been known to record a Strat direct to the desk (with a DI but no amp). So why not try a setup without an amp - maybe just a chain of compressor + EQ?

Alternatively: Nile Rodgers’ current live setup seems to be using a Fender HotRod Deluxe - coincidentally, there’s a HRD capture on the QC :sunglasses: (US HRDLX ChA, US HRDLX ChB)…

I think he uses the Fender HR DeVille, not Deluxe. It’s a little tighter/punchier/cleaner. One of the cleaner HRDLX caps might come close, but it’s technically a different amp. (There are a few HR DeVille captures on the cloud)

you’re probably correct - I may have confused the two. More a Marshall type player myself :wink:
