Display/amplifier for quad cortex

Could someone recommend a good amplifier/cabinet for the Quad Cortex? I’m currently using a Headrush FRFR 112 MKII, but it’s giving me problems and I’m thinking of buying another one with better quality and sound. If you could recommend one, thank you.

Need more information on what you mean by “amplifier/cabinet”. Do you mean FRFR amp and FRFR cab? Or a power amp with a guitar speaker cab?

If I mean FRFR active amplifier

I’m using a GRGuitar ATG210A ST Aerotech FRFR.

This is just my personal opinion. FRFR are just stage monitors rebranded as cabinets for modelers. most of the time is use the DB Technologies FM10 because to my ears it sounds good. it might not sound good to you so if you know any music shop that allows you to try some, that’ll be good. other than that if you want an FRFR you have a decent range of choice since a lot of brands are going that way. to my knowledge i see a lot of people using LANEY so you might give it a try. hope this helps a bit.

In my Opinion the fender fr10/12 are excellent. I have an fr-10 and love it. They look and feel more like an amp, sound great and are loud. The profile is not really flat, but tuned towards guitar, which is great in my opinion. Haven’t tried the TONEX Cab, but from online comparisons they aren’t better…

if it’s for stage monitoring or home/studio playing, the Fender FR series are nice and so is the equivalent Spark 140w cab. These are decent ways of hearing yourself at home or onstage.

If your amp has to be part of your overall amplification/sound for the entire venue, I don’t know that I’d recommend any FRFR for that.

I´m currently using the Fender Tonemaster FRFR12. Super satisfied with that unit.
I´ve heard some good reviews about the Laney LFR 112.
Here´s the link for you to check.

I used the Headrush 108 FRFR for a year—it wasn’t the best experience, but it got the job done, mainly to have something behind me on stage for familiarity after years of playing amps. I later switched to a Friedman 1x12 cab with a Seymour Duncan PowerStage, which feels like an upgrade, but not a game-changer. Most of the venues I play have excellent PAs and monitors, so I still primarily hear my front monitor. Both setups worked for me, and while I prefer the power amp and cab setup, I had to reconfigure all my presets to send a signal without the cab/IR block to the power amp.
