I’d like automatic assignment of blocks to footswitches in the stomp model to be disabled by default, or to at least have the option of disabling it for all presets.
The automatic assignments are literally never how I want them to be, and I waste time having to go and disable the assignment each time I add a block wen creating a preset. For example, many of my presets will use a single amp and cab, and I don’t want to turn off the amps at all. But even for blocks that I do want to turn on/off, the automatic assignment is not the one I want.
Returning to this topic. This is still my biggest gripe about the QC, now made even worse with Cortex Control.
When adding a block to the grid, it shows you which stomp position it’s automatically assigned to, but doesn’t have a “no assignment” button. I discovered that you have to click on the assignment in order to cancel it:
What a mess! Please please pleeeeeeease give us the option to NOT have every block automatically assigned when adding to the grid. Having to immediately undo assignments on blocks I intend to be permanent in the grid, is such a backwards way of working.
There should be an option not to auto-assign footswitches. This needs to make it into a firmware update. Even better would be an additional option that allows you to assign your own custom footswitch defaults to blocks, including “NONE”.
PITA but until then, I guess a preset you have saved with your preferred assignments as a template, used (copied over) as a baseline for new presets, is the best option we have.
There is a quicker way to at least delete the assignments in the Control application. Enter Stomp view in Control and there is a little trash can icon in the upper left corner of the A-H buttons. After you add in most of your blocks, just enter stomp gig view and click the trash can for each one. No right clicking needed.
But I agree that an option to "No Default Switch) would be appropriate.
Like, every tutorial tells you to start building a preset with your amp and cab blocks. And those get assigned bypass switches A and B. Why would you want this ever?
