Is there a way to create a device template where all changes to the template affect all uses of it.

Example:

  • You setup a compressor with specific parameters.
  • You import that device into 8 presets.
  • You modify the template or the device in one of the presets and all presets reflect the change.

I’m using an I/O path for my on stage monitor mix and plug my IEMS direct to the QC. So, the same exact devices and settings need to be in each preset I use in that monitor path. This is fine when I first set it up, but any changes then must be copied to each preset these devices are in.

There’s no way to do that presently.
There are feature requests for ‘linking’ blocks, where changes are synched across all presets, but I don’t know if we’ll ever see that feature introduced.

For now, you either have to set that particular parameter setting configuration as ‘default’ so the block will always open in that state, or copy the block and paste it into each preset (it will retain the settings you’ve adjusted)

Good enough, thanks Gents. I’ll make it work. I could collapse the presets into a a single w/scenes, but just trying 2 of them is a ton of work.

Related, but it doesn’t cover the request of, “I make a parameter change to one block in one preset and all of my other presets with that same block get the same parameter change.”
