I’ve just noticed that the same presets I was using for recording (very simple compressor/amp/cab) which I was getting 80 samples (1.6ms) latency readings are now around 124 to 139 samples (2.5/2.9ms).
Example: green 808 → EV101IIIS Red EL34 100W → 312 CA Stand OS S V30 90s (M) ) total 139 samples.
I’m just trying to understand if there’s something with my setup that is influencing this, but until friday I had 80 stable samples of latency (CorOS 3.0.1), and after upgrading I’m having quite a lot more (and not very stable, it varies a bit). I didn’t change anything else
I’m pretty sure it is CorOS.
I will have to do some tests on this. I did a series of latency tests a couple months ago for my own purposes and I have all the results. I can run them again and compare.
Have you tried disabling row 4? I vaguely remember reading in another latency thread that the mere use of rows 3/4 also increased latency, even if there are no blocks involved.
With my soundcard and RTL utility.
First i measured the soundcard latency (hardware+roundtrip) by putting a patch cable between output 3 and input 1.
Then out3>QC>in1.
The numers i get with the QC minus the one i got before gave me those results
