At 5:14 of this video, he seems to use some sort of Beat Repeat or Slicer effect on his Zoom G3xn, with the following specs assigning a different rhythmic pattern to each footswitch (1/16ths, 1/32nds, and 1/8 triplets to each footswitch respectively). Also worth noting that he doesn’t need to sustain the notes he plays - holding down each footswitch “freezes” and repeats the note without any decay.
I’m wondering how I can accomplish this with my current gear, without having to buy a whole Zoom G3. For the record, I have: a Quad Cortex, a Boss SL-2 slicer, and a Boss RC-500 Looper. I’ve tried a bunch of trickery with this gear but still can’t get them to work exactly like above.
On the QC, I’ve tried using the Tremolo effect in conjunction with the Freeze effect right before it. But Freeze doesn’t seem to actually freeze the note I play immediately, there’s a tiny delay - and so I’m forced to sustain the note, and it eventually decays. I’ve also tried setting up some sort of “infinite” Delay, but the QC Delays don’t seem to be capable of going infinite - unless I’m wrong here?
Any help would be appreciated!
