Audient EVO-4

Hi,
Those using Evo-4, how do you connect to the Quad Cortex?
I have seen mentions of connect via USB but the only USB on the Evo-4 is for power and connection to the Windows 11 computer.
Currently I have a cable from QC 3L to the guitar input of the -EVO 4 but, I don’t hear any sounds in my speakers!
I can hear sounds if I play mp3’s etc. on the computer.
Any help from basic to advance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Hey!
I haven’t used an Evo-4 but maybe I can give some general advice.

  1. Connecting via USB won’t work. Like you said, the USB is for connecting the audio interface to a computer. You can’t connect another audio interface this way.
  2. QC itself is an audio interface, so if you don’t use the Evo-4 to connect anything else, maybe the best way is to use the QC directly.
  3. If you insist on using the Evo-4 connecting Output 3L to the guitar input isn’t ideal. You will only get a mono signal.
You could try to use Output 1/2 on the QC and the two XLR inputs on the Evo-4, panned left/right to get a stereo signal.
In both cases you have to adjust the levels (turn down the gain on the Evo), because the Evo-4 probably expects a lower (instrument/microphone) level.

Thank you Derdoe.
Currently I don’t have XLR cables so I will have to order some.
That’s why I was trying that configuration as I had time tonight.
Again thank you and I will get back at a later date to confirm all is good.

I am using an Evo-8 which has 2x the inputs and outputs of the Evo-4 so I am not sure my setup would help, I am running QC to frfr and Mac to monitors. The software for the Evo setup can be a bit tricky, depending on your needs. Balanced cables would be good.

Hi,
I got some XLR cables and all works now.
Updated the EVO-4 software also.
Thanks both for your advice.
