Amp Model Request - Fryette Pittbull

The V2 captures put me on to this amp and I love how mean it sounds!

Assuming NDSP also has the amp - would love a model of this amplifier added to list of available amps on Quad Cortex.

Note: there is a request for plugin that exists but not for this in QC.

Hi, I am a former owner of the 100CL model and created the request for a Pittbull plug-in:

The Pittbull series (50CL, 100CL, 100CLX Masterbuilt, 100UL Ultra-Lead) were complicated amps with a lot of switches and knobs, plus a graphic EQ. Kind of similar in that regard to Mesa’s Mark series. Most of them are EL34 amps but the Ultra-Lead had KT88.

This is why I put in a request for a plug-in, to capture any and all of the nuances of these beasts. If a plug-in could be created, it would follow that it would eventually make its way to the QC. All of that is a tall order, though.

I doubt that Fryette would ever agree to license out their Pittbull trademark to a plug-in if Neural offered, on account of A) they already have hardware preamp modules for Synergy, and B) they just released the Ultra-Lead II, a rackmount amp which has a separate software component. But who knows.

The V2 captures in the QC are from the 50CL model. Try out #13 and #14 if you want to hear the amp without the extra overdrives in front. It sounds very close to what I remember from my old 100CL.

Anyway, putting in my vote. Fryette amps deserve a lot more recognition.

I was making a Paige Hamilton/Helmet Preset recently and did a deep-dive on the Pitbull. Wow. It is a monster indeed
