Addressing the relationship between store promotions and Quad Cortex integration timelines

don’t get too comfortable though- we’ve been asking for it since the beginning. They throw us a bone when the complaints get too loud, but then back to ‘normal.’

If the cycle is “complaints, bone, back to normal,” then I guess our only option is to just keep the complaints coming and never let our guard down  .

If they won’t change their routine, we won’t change ours! :guitar::shield:

So you need to post elsewhere too and not just here. This thread count 1 on a sentiment analysis. Keep on writing the same thing on each social content they post and you’ll start having a more significant impact.

Haha ok, let’s do it! :crossed_swords:

It’s just the reality. As someone who’s worked at the cutting edge of technology for 27 years, there’s a reality that after the QC was released, AI expedited development in a way that couldn’t have been anticipated at design. It’s a double edged sword. The plugins have gotten much better - to the point of practically closing that final gap. Dynamic response is now there and on point. We’re finally getting the time-based fx the QC desperately lacked. The newer plugins are phenomenal. But the other side of it is - those advancements use far more resources. This can easily be seen in a v2 capture vs v1. That resource usage is far larger on the newest models and plugins. I appreciated their transparency in the post that stated not all plugins would be coming. If I recall correctly, for a successful port over, the plugin doesn’t just have to work in isolation, but also be able to integrate with the current resources and ecosystem successfully.

I wish they had released an updated unit with twice the processing/compute power instead of the mini. I do believe the mini was a step towards that though and shows that they can take advantage of advancements in hardware architecture and chip development and release a unit with the same footprint as the original QC and twice the power.

All that said I love my QC. I’ve worked in tech long enough to not buy on promises, but current capabilities and the QC is still an amazing unit for what it is able to do :man_shrugging:. I also believe that Neural didn’t make promises in bad faith, just no one saw how far modeling, capture, plugin tech would advance as fast as it did. It’s a good problem to have IMO.

True, tech evolves fast, but then you just pivot and be honest with your customers. You don’t keep repeating the same promises for years when you realize that the original hardware is going to struggle and can’t actually handle them.

It’s the “lack” (not to say consciously ambiguous  ) of communication that missed the mark, not the tech.

At this point, I wouldn’t even be surprised if they released a QC2 and announced that full plugin compatibility will only happen on that.
