Upvote this request if you want it, thanks. It’s additional support, not asking to replace the existing tech.
I believe this is inevitable now,
multiple manufacturers large & small are working on NAM A2 pedals, eg Fractal.
Their recently released A2 tech blitzed all the proprietary capturing tech in recent vast scientific listening tests,
even their A2-Lite captures, which will run on pedals with $3 embedded chips,
rated higher than V2 Quad Cortex captures.
And now the Genome plugin has come out with NAM A2-powered Parametric Captures,
NAM A2 is the future in my opinion.
I LOVE my Quad Cortex pedal.
But why not have the highest quality possible and most realistic feel?
NAM A2 is basically indistinguishable from the reference amp.
And then you can also use the exact same model for recording via a vst like Genome.
I’m not talking out my arse or being ideological here at all,
observe the posted scientific listening tests below.
the NAM A2 clips WERE picked out in blind tests as being closer or indistinguishable from the reference amp.
And you can find posts from people on here who have directly compared NAM to their Quad Cortex captures and preferred them.
There’s a lot of youtube comparison videos from the A1 days and I don’t recall one where the Quad Cortex captures were rated above NAM full. They’re above the opposition (Tonex, Proxy, Kemper) for sure with V2, but still trailing NAM.
You really need to compare the same amp done in both modern formats, apples to apples.
it could be done with Amalgam captures, but he’s only just started releasing A2 captures so it’s a limited test at the moment. I’ll be doing that shortly with what I find available so we’ll see I guess.
