This post makes sense. There is now a capture technology thats open source, appears more accurate and uses considerably less resources. Think of the cpu limits of QC V2 captures. Neural needs to seriously look at this. Or risk falling into trap of the Ikea effect. The competition is already working with NAM A2.
For context: Rather than implementing NAM’s version 1 (A1?) models based on a feature request made in 2024, Neural chose to double down on a “walled garden” approach and develop their V2 Capture tech in 2025.
Definitely don’t see this happening for the QC. I’ll stay out of this discussion from now on.
Agreed they are not likely to add NAM and cannibalise their own tech. But they should respond. If adding actual NAM to QC is a no, then try to leapfrog this with capture V3. Soon there will be more and better options thanks to NAM.
Qc is a very expensive device that has a lot of hardware power, i think adding this open source technology makes it even more competitive, there are many technologies emerging and shaping the future of Amps sims and sound in general, but as a QC owner i think neural dsp is getting behind. Hope many people vote for this, it is a must add to the QC and NC
