A thread for those who successfully updated to CorOS 3.0

Ola did a video comparing plini x and the plugin on the QC. He noticed a difference in the low end. Someone from neural DSP commented that to get them exactly the same you either need to increase or decrease the input gain on the QC or plugin by 2.26db. This is interesting and worth knowing because there is a difference in the zero input gain level and will no doubt be the case for all of the plugins. Go onto YouTube and look up “do they sound the same?” and look at comments section.

Hello from Portugal, Update to 3.0.0 ok. Had to update Cortex Control to 1.1.0.
Everything OK :raised_hands:

Updated firmware and Cortex Control without any problems. Everything seems to work OK. I do not have any plug-ins, and I am not planning on buying any, so I can’t comment on them.

Updated to 3.0.0 without any issue.

Took roughly 30 mn , and rebooted several times.

64% is the new 71%

(Don’t forget to update Cortex Control to v1.1.0)

Same reports. Updated successfully. I ran a timer on my phone. 29 mins. Longest portion was part 3 for the plug-in compatibility.

When it finished it restarted automatically, and within 40 seconds I had an email from Neural to claim my free gift.

Made sure I had Control at 1.1.0 and connected usb.

No issues here upon initial use - will dig more later.

Ooo - updating to a new firmware on the day of a gig - going raw - respect!

I do have alternatives and it’s a very low risk gig
but so far there’s no major bug

Updated without any problems, got my free plini X plugin.
Everything seems to be working like a charm. Plugin and qc sound are very similar. Thanks a lot to Neural Dsp staff

But you know you get a plugin for free? If you choose Plini X or Gojira X you can use them right away.

Thanks @Teatime48, very interesting! My ears are not so perfect after 30+ years of playing rock music, so I did not notice. But good to know that there is this difference in input gain.

Update ok QC works, USB stability problem. Regardless of the buffer value, 512 or 256, it crashes after a while on plugins. With 2.3.1 it worked great.
All latest versions
USB, Plugins, Control etc.

Thanks Andyjcp. I have claimed Pliny now. I’m just about to start exploring it on the QC.

I just finished the update

I own the Plini X plugin

But, cannot find the PLUGINS menu on the QC (I rebooted but still no PLUGIN menu)

Anyone else with this issue?

Updated here with no problems in London, UK :grinning:

Took about 10 mins overall for updates including Plug-ins

Chicago area here. Updated successfully and Control is working. All good! I own both plug ins and everything activated fine.

Where are you finding the plugins on the QC?

Redeeming the free plugin was incredibly quick and easy.

Mega - all worked fine for me and the free plugin too.

I’m not I’m afraid - I don’t use plugins and the PCOM aspect of this update was the least important aspect of the whole thing for me
