3.3.1 stomp mode footswitch color bug

CorOS Version: 3.3.1

Describe your issue:
When I assign a utility gain block to a footswitch the dim color and bright color should be white. The dim color is red after this update.

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Step 1 assign gain block to footswitch
  2. Step 2 toggle footswitch off and on
  3. Step 3 see off is red and on is white

I expected this to happen:
When I do x, I expect y to happen both on and off were white before 3.3.1

I have tried the following things:

  • I have tried x
  • I have tried y
  • I have tried z

Edit…seems to affect many other blocks in stomp mode being red in dim/off state. I checked a bunch in a few minutes. Seems to be all utility, overdrive, wah, and not sure what other block categories. All red dim color instead of the color for the category. For instance utility changes from white/red on/off. Overdrive changes orange/red on/off.

Same happens to me for the OVERDRIVE Block (Boost, distortion, and overdrive pedal devices) in existing Presets in Stomp Mode.

Before CorOS 3.3.1, the color of the dimmed light im Stomp Mode for an assigned Overdrive Block was amber. Now it is red. If the Block is active (no dimmed light) the color is still amber.

Okay. So it appears to be more widespread than I thought. Seems to be all the utilities, overdrives, wahs and not sure what else. I just took an empty preset and randomly selected blocks from a lot of the different categories. In stomp mode. Assigned footswitch. The dim color is red on all the utilities, overdrive, and wah categories. I randomly checked a lot of other blocks in other categories that seem to match the color as intended. Someone will have to go through and check each block in stomp mode, but that’s what I found in a few minutes.

Glad someone else noticed this too. I was going crazy thinking it had been this way forever.

Yes, I’m chiming in. I’ve noticed this too!

has anyone reported this to Support@neuraldsp.com yet?

Doh! That’s a negative. I thought this was support to report bugs.

this forum is mostly for user advice and help. It’s best to report bugs directly to Support

Thanks for pointing this out. Like others I thought I was going crazy. I was going to snap a picture of mine verses my bandmates pre-update but didn’t get the chance. Hopefully it gets corrected soon.

The category says ā€˜Bug reports’.

Anyway, my hope was that it might be a setting adjustment and not a bug, since dim lights have been out for a long time and should run stable. So it is most likely better to only report bugs to NeuralDSP which are for sure bugs (most often for newly introduced features). In addition, I expect that somebody from NeuralDSP scans a section in the forum which is labled ā€œBug Reportsā€ regularly, since their goal should be to have error free software.

It’s a bug. Doing it on both of my QC’s. Not a huge deal, but a minor annoyance. They check here under bug reports, and close them as they’re resolved. It’s not really something I need to submit a support ticket for as it’s not just my unit. They’ll get it fixed. Always have when I post a bug here.

I went ahead and forwarded it to support just to be sure.
