I would like to replace some of the nuts on the back of my Quad Cortex with colored versions to make the connections easier to spot, similar to the ones shown in the photo below.
I am looking for high quality parts. I have seen a few options online, but they look like cheap plastic or someone selling 3D printed parts. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am US-based, but if you have non-US purchase options, those may still be helpful if others are looking for the same thing.
If you’re looking for what should be a quality product, Neutrik makes these parts, labeled as NRJ-NUT-_. But I only see NRJ-NUT-R for red, NRJ-NUT-B for black, and three metal types:
This looks decent, though:
As an electrical engineer I spend a big chunk of my workday looking for parts. I hope this helps.
For genuine Cliff parts, Newark actually had the best price and lowest shipping cost from what I found online. Cliff is UK-based, Newark is in the US, but both are global companies. Newark’s shipping rate is $9.99 for the order, so as you said, it is as much as the parts themselves! The Newark price was roughly $0.30-0.50 each, depending on color and quantity ordered.
Unfortunately, Newark is currently out of stock on the blue ones, and I did not want to split the order and pay shipping twice. I ended up ordering from TME instead. They were a little more expensive ($12.90 shipping), but had everything in stock. We’ll see how long it actually takes to receive the order
