I’m playing through a Powerstage 700 and a Krank 4x12. I thought the cab sounded really sterile and lacked dynamics compared to my tube amp, so I captured the power amp of my 6505+ and put that before my output with a high cut around 12k.
I know the built in plugins and amps have the power amp included already, but this made my cab sound huge and closer to the feel of my tube amp. I’m not sure how to share the capture here but my user is Peepaw614.
If your cab sounds thin playing metal give this a try and let me know what you think.
I use additional power amp captures in lots of my presets, I find they definitely improve things. I suspect it’s from stacking different saturation stages. Most of my stuff is low/mid-gain; I think it pretty much works for any style
Great idea! I like to use an Amptweaker Depth Finder to get more from the amp models. Seems to add some of the depth and clarity that the amp models don’t always seem to give. Curious to try the power amp capture
