The Ocean Collective (or simply called The Ocean) are a metal band from Germany. Check out this rig rundown video to see how they have integrated the Quad Cortex into their live setup.
The Ocean are an incredible band. One of my main influences for switching to modelers.
They’re also doing very close to what we are doing live - our lights are tied to scenes on the QC, and click/keys run on an Elektron Octatrack instead.
Very similar to what I do with Logic Pro, that runs audio to front of house, MIDI to my QC and video output to projector via HDMI. I also have an iPad Mini 2 running everything but video via Cubasis.
In my experience, the iPad Mini 2 is way more reliable and less nerve racking than running from a laptop
man, I need to up my game. We’re not sending any automation; I have to change presets on 3 to 4 devices per song and then trigger the Projector separately. I’ve GOT to merge me some midi or something!
My band has a similar approach: Ableton Live, wireless MIDI automation, lights via DMXIS/MIDI.
Big advantage compared to Logic Pro: Ableton session view (easy to rearrange song setlist) and MIDI automation to lights.
