Nano just ordered. I am thinking of doing this with a Boss GX-10. I don’t really need that much in the way of switching. Just delay on/off and tap tempo and some kind of boost switch. It would be great if could also have the ability to switch overdrive and modulation. I was thinking of doing this with scenes and the Airstep but now I am wondering if I can get this going with my GX-10z
How did you connect Midi Captain to nano Cortex?
I have spent the last 3 days trying with all diffedrent cables and firmware 4 and 5 as well as some custom made firmwares.
Hi, I use this cable: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RBTMA30BK--rockboard-by-warwick-flat-trs-to-midi-type-a-cable-black-11.81-inches. And have the nano set to MIDI (instead of expression pedal) for the TRS input. Also a TRS adapter from 1/8" to 1/4". Hope that helps!

Do uou use some king of MIDI host?
I use a host when connecting midi through the Nano’s USB C port. But not through the TRS.
what kind of pedalboard is that, cutom made? or if a retail product does it offer the inputs and xlr outputs as an accessory or is it standard? Looks tidy and fitting in rollable pelican case is a nice bonus!
I used to use that morley splitter till I discovered what it was doing to my signal, so ya know…unless they’ve altered and corrected the design in the last decade, when I used it, respectfully (love my vintage morley delay/chorus)…it turned my tone from a juicy fresh napa grape to a stale cereal raisin.
It’s a Temple Audio Trio 21. It’s readily available but does not come with the modules. You can purchase them separately from Temple Audio or just buy the plates and wire them yourself.
All of it fitting into one single rolling case is huge for travel!

Hey! Great setup. Do you mind sharing where you got the TRS-to-DIN MIDI cable you’re using?
I’m currently looking for a reliable Type A cable and haven’t had much luck finding one with consistently good reviews.
Also, do you have any tips for setting up the MIDI Captain with the Nano Cortex? I’d love to hear how you’ve configured yours and if there were any settings or gotchas I should be aware of. Thanks!
Hi! I actually got it custom made with a guy I found on my city.
But, I got bored with the fix signal chain of the Nano and sold it. Since the Nano was gone, I also sold the MIDI Captain.
There’s a FB group for Midi Captain and they’ve been developing an after market firmware specifically for the Nano.
There’s also one web editor that makes it visual to edit MIDI CC and PC for the superuser mode which is quite helpful too.
I did try the web one, but when the specific for the Nano came out, I’ve already sold the device by that time, so I wasn’t able to try it.

I actually just redid my captures to be the unboosted amps because I’m preferring the sound with the actual drive pedal into that capture over a capture of both the amp and pedal.

Just basics, fuzz, overdrive, comp and boost. And phaser of course. Airstep has been superb, it really open up the potential on nanocortex. Highly recommend to get one.

Ya know Ive really enjoyed seeing how different pedalboards have been set up, I love the Nano and QC for me this my speed and is a great set up. Everything in one case…and a pick holder… that doesn’t need a dolly to move it. My experience playing live isn’t as much as others, but I’ve have found its much nicer to, look down while playing and not have to remember what, where and how to make a quick adjustment when needed. No matter how good it sounds on the QC/Nano…there’s always the sound man or system to contend with. This set up seems easier to drop it, power it and play.
I still love seeing the monster board set ups with the QC…very sexy keep’m coming
I finished my new holiday board . Just a Nano, a Morningstar mc6pro, a looper and a wah pedal.
The cable from the battery to the usbc is outside to access it easier. I plays fine for 8-10 hours. With the minirig it is a fun outdoor package
I also did a jam session and some small gigs with it. What a time to play guitar/bass. I love the my little companion
