QC Mini needs Input Impedance Control

I have 2 Quad Cortexes, and just got a QC Mini.

The one big thing missing from the QC Mini is the Input Impedance Control that’s on the QC.

It actually makes a big difference. I run my Impedance at 10M. It really sounds better than 1M.

So my QC Mini does NOT sound exactly the same as my 2 Quad Cortexes. It cannot do it yet.

I’m really hoping this Feature is in the next update. I was hoping to have my QC Mini be the FX for my amp wall. I guess I have to keep a Quad Cortex there, until this is added. I thought I was buying the same thing as a QC, but it’s not the same.

It is possible that a hardware-level limitation in the Mini may prevent this from being implemented. I don’t have insider knowledge or anything, but I would like to think that if Neural could have included this feature, it would be there already.

It may be worth sending an email to Neural directly to ask why this wasn’t included in the Mini.

I also noticed that the sound of the QC mini seems to be different from that of the QC. The output of the mini seems to be even louder, and it even has a bit of an overpowering feeling. So I didn’t have any false perception. It seems that the impedance setting couldn’t be done (or the default impedance setting might not be appropriate either). I have already sold the mini.

that’s strange, because according to technical specs the Mini has a LOWER Output range than the full-size. Might have been a gain-staging issue?

What I’m referring to is that the output under the default settings is a bit uncomfortable, but this does not mean the maximum output capacity. Also, because the logic of triggered by the release of the toggle, I lost my patience and didn’t bother to conduct repeated tests.

But I think it’s just that in your description of the gain settings, there are some excessive elements. It’s not a hardware issue.
