Nano Cortex vs Quad Cortex

Hi there :victory_hand:,

currently i am testing a Nano Cortex. So far the sound and the device itself are amazing.

I am looking for an all in one rig, that ist capable of doing live shows.

I dont use lots of FX, so the 5 slots of NC could probably be fine. When I think about playing live, I would need something that shows me the current state of the fx (whats on, whats off?). With NC that would mean I have to buy an advanced Midi Controller Like Morningstar or a simple Midi Controller and use a phone as a display.

It feels like the NC is almost my perfect solution, but lacks of some relevant features. The QC is 3x price of NC and maybe a little bit of overkill. A device in between both would a perfect solution to me.

Money is a factor, of course. I have no additional pedals and dont want to buy some. All sounds should come out of the device.

What do you think? Can someone give me helpful advices?

Cheers

I use the Nano with a Morningstar MC6. Others are more than happy with the Paint Audio products that are a very reasonable price.
It’s great, and I do my occasional pub gigs with mine.
The Quad is obviously a perfect all in one solution, but may have features you’ll not use and, as you’ve pointed out, is more expensive.

Thanks for your Input :-).

What does your MC6?

Switching presets or FX On/Off as well?

Do you have additional pedals?

So you dont use the phone app on live gigs?
