NDSP?

Great!

As I already said:
THIS IS MANDATORY FOR NDSP!!!

My first post concerning that was blocked for reasons I dont understand?

*sigh*

I am highly skeptical that NDSP would ever decide to include NAM compatibility because, well, they already have their own propietary amp block / capture modeling.

Not impossible, but I think this embodies the lowest of priorities for NDSP. It would be cool if they decide to do it, but don’t hold out for it or get too worked up.

This is the equivalent of expecting Line 6 or any other modeler company to incorporate NAM to their proprietary amp models. Could be cool, but unfortunately most western companies would view this as a downside/competition to their own models. Whereas stuff like this in China is viewed as a plus (which it is).

A lot of trademark/copyright stuff is viewed more as an open source thing in china, to help push innovation.

really doubt it as NDSP’s capture tech is proprietary
I guess the concern is competing capture units/processes, there are a million videos comparing captures to real amps or different capture devices and it seems like NAM does capture at a bit higher fidelity but in practice they all perform similarly imo
The most innovative capture feature i’ve seen is headrush’s which is also proprietary, the blends multiple capture takes into a single capture or clone I think they call it.
gear nuts are fickle and I think NDSP will need to innovate and update or risk being left in the dust.

Is it?

You can already capture anything you might want on the QC or Nano. You can also buy other pedals that will run NAM captures.
If/when a clear “standard” capture format appears in the future, then it would probably be important for all modelers to run it, but I don’t think we’re there yet, nor would it ever be “mandatory”.

Some of us barely even use captures at all, so are far more interested in other improvements to the QC.

Yes I think so.

Nam profiles will become standard like IR’s.

You will see!
