Have we been forgotten?

I bought my Nano not long after the launch.
I’ve had the same issues as many, I’d rather have a drive slot than a pitch change slot, a compressor rather than a noise gate…and so on.
I keep reading all the threads, and suggestions for future upgrades but I can’t find anything from Neural.
I still love many things about my Nano, but I’m becoming impatient waiting for news about any potential updates.
Has anyone heard anything to suggest they’re still developing the concept or are they sticking with the build as it is?

Nano has been out for only three months. Breeeeeeaaaathe.

As a Quad Cortex owner, I have to tell you that you may be waiting a long time (months, years) for desired functions to become available.

Updates will happen. The best source for updates is the News page on the Neural DSP site.

„We will continue to refine and expand upon the Nano Cortex, much like we have with other products in our ecosystem. Our commitment to excellence remains unwavering, and we are excited to see where this journey will take us.“

Other then that statement I don’t know of any which NDSP has ever made about the Nano Cortex regarding updates. I also don’t think it will get much more flexible within the next few months / years, as they would then create a competitor for the QC. Just my thoughts though.

Patience isn’t my super power, I admit that….
I bought a QC when they first came out, and loved it initially.
We had a number of software updates and feature improvements, but we also had the monthly newsletter,
I felt more informed when I owned the QC… I knew that Neural were working on improving it. I don’t feel the same way with my nano. That’s all I’m saying.

I don‘t think, that one OD slot would be a competition for the QC. It‘s way more complex and does modeling, PCom, more I/O etc.
In my opinion it would set it apart from the other Capture Players. The ToneX/One is the competition and it has effects, too. But giving us some more delay/Reverbs and maybe a second capture slot, would make it stand out from the other Capture-Players. They have written that the nano is a platform to build on, so I really hope they expand on it.
I all for updates of what they are working on!

Why buy something that doesn’t have the features you want already?

Just enjoy the Nano for what it does now, play as much guitar as you can - and if any updates materialise it’ll be a bonus.

Where have they written that?

In the News article:
„ But Nano Cortex is not just a product—it’s a platform.
Just as we’ve demonstrated with the Quad Cortex and our line of plugins, we are committed to evolving and improving our products long after their release. Our history of delivering consistent updates, including major feature expansions and performance enhancements, attests to our dedication to supporting our community of musicians well into the future.“

Yeah. That one made me chuckle a bit. Well, let’s see.

I wouldn’t buy a product for what it can become in the future. That’s why the Nano, at the moment at least, is not for me…

So far, I’m super happy with my nano cortex. Having access to these amp sims in the form of a pedal is enough of a reason for me to have got it. The fact it might become even better is nothing short of exciting for me.

If they add additional EQ to the cab sim somehow, it would be perfect

NDSP isn’t quick with updates for anything from what I have seen. But what they release is very good. With most companies, look for one or two a year. AFAIK, only Line 6 and Fractal do incremental updates. Most others only annual or twice a year. People make the same statements on all the other forums and groups.

I would be surprised to see the NC receive a drive block. It is very similar to the Tonex and many of the other companies seem to be making devices like this that are really design to be on a pedalboard, as opposed to an all in one unit.

But who knows.

If they never update it, it is already just fine with me. The sounds are very good.

May compel me to get a QC, who knows.

I’ve made these same assessments only to be banned from the forum for days because it created a stream of negative responses that I was blamed for.

These dudes are sitting on gold but the way they deal with the product ( releases and update ) and us the customer ( those who are committed to their brand and product ) , is not honoring….

I’m still so called brilliant innovative updates that don’t include what was requested ( like Tone King for QC )

So disappointing NOT TO EVEN receive reasonable communication of when this could take place. They just shut me down …!!!

Shutting down people is their specialty.

I don’t dislike the unit, at all, I just think it could be better, for me at least. It’s quite interesting that some people seem to be upset with me that I’d like it to be better, but I guess that’s forums for you…

I, too hope that it evolves a bit. It’s such a cool pedal and has the potential to be really a stand out from the crowd.
A second capture block and some more delays and reverbs and it would beat the competition. Right now it’s good, but it can become even more.
It’s a little bit sad, that with the actual limits, that is has no fx loop. If it could do more effects, that wouldn’t be so important.
And it’s surprising that a company like neural doesn’t have an OD.
Im really happy with it, but I still hope, that it evolves even more…

There is literally no reason why it couldn’t have more than one capture. Or a drive block. NDSP is interested in money. Not making good products. And it shows.

I don’t agree here. There is room for improvement and hopefully there will be some, but it sound f****ing great right now. Had a 1 hour jam and I was in tone heaven.
So for me it’s the best little capture player at the moment. Your opinion may differ, but it’s by no means bad right now.

As already stated, you should only buy this product for what your getting right now. Who knows what the future is for new functionality. But I suspect they will keep up with completing products.

I never said it sounds bad. I said it’s designed with built in flaws to make it worse.
