Has anyone compared the QC Synth with the MXR Bass Synth?

Does anyone out there have the MXR Bass Synth and if so, how does the QC’s synth compare? Better tracking or worse? More flexible vs less, etc?

I’d be using this on guitar.

we have one at the studio; I haven’t used it personally. I’ll give it a whirl this Sunday for a comparison, and see what our bassist thinks about it too. (I’m pretty sure I’ve heard him say he’s not thrilled with the MXR)

Tried the MXR Bass Synth at a local music shop. It sounded great and the tracking was good. But I remember getting super annoyed very quickly about all of the secondary and tertiary controls. You basically need this printed out in order to operate the pedal effectively:

A pedal with this many options should just have a screen.

…Or you can use the Quad Cortex mono synth block.

Interesting to hear that your bass player wasn’t thrilled with it. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet or anything because I definitely want to play with one first. Just in case.

I see what you mean about needing the printout. I’d be the guy that creates presets I need and then not mess with it.

The EH bass synth was sitting at a local mom-and-pop shop for some time. Never tried it, but the control section was decidedly more simple.

Well, I did have the Source Audio synth and didn’t like it, nor did I care for the Boss SY-1. The QC sounds good, but still wondering how the MXR stands up against it. People seem to really dig the MXR.

I thought this clip had some killer tones.
