FX Loop tone quality loss

I’m getting tone suck when inserting the NC into the FX loop of either my GT-1000 Core or QC (just using to test).

With all cab sims, amps, reverbs, fx, etc. turned off on either host device (just the fx loop block active), the output (host headphone) sounds different/poor when compared to the headphone output from the Nano. It sounds like the already reverb’d signal is being sent through a second reverb.

I have good power (Cioks 9v 660mA), good cables, no ground noise/hum, and am experienced using the FX loops. I initially thought I was making a mistake setting it up with the GT1KC, but then tried it with the QC and it does exactly the same thing. It seems like the Nano’s 1L out is not outputting a clean signal.

I am in contact with support. Have any of you guys noticed tone issues when connecting the NC to a multifx unit through an FX loop - GT1K, HX Stomp, etc…?

i’m going to try this sooner or later, since i also want to put it in the loop of my stomp :ok_hand:

Any updates? I’d love to hear more about how you’re setting the Nano up to work in your Stomp’s FX loop and how well it meets your expectations

Yeah, I got it working with the GT1KC with no sound quality loss. I don’t have a HX Stomp anymore to try out.

The way they show to connect it in the manual (mono) definitely didn’t work right when placed in a loop. Connected in stereo it was better, but I can’t be bothered with the extra cabling and don’t care about stereo, so I only use the amp capture block.

Now I can freely place the amp wherever I want in the chain and use whatever pre/post FX and cabsim I want.
