Hi Guys,
I just entered the neuro world and got stuck with all the searches and prompts on how to combine it with my mesa boogie rectifier and cab using modulation effects in the fx loop.
I want to setup and check all options:
QC only for effects with the real amp and cab. The trick here is that I want to use QC modulation effects in the mesa’s fx loop.
How do I achieve this? is the proper chain:
Guitar-> (input 1,row 1 ) QC for noise and drive → (input) Mesa (fx loop send) → (input 2,row 3) QC for delay, reverb (output) ->(fx loop return) mesa
QC for effects and as a pre-amp with the mesa for power-amp and real cab. The trick here is again the modulation that i need in a fx loop , probably in qc after the amp block.
What is the chain here since I need effect blocks in the loop but I also need to connect the QC to the amp loop?
Scenario you have here should work just fine. Just make sure you’re clear on which QC outputs you’re using, too.

Guitar → QC input, Row 1 for your amp block / preamp setup → send to Row 3
Lay out your modulation / time-based effects blocks on Row 3 → send to QC output → send to Mesa FX loop return
You can play around a lot with placement of preamp and modulation blocks on any row in this scenario.
NOTE 1: The QC’s amp blocks have their models’ preamp + power amp baked into the sound. Sending that to your Mesa’s power amp section may sound odd at first, but should be OK with some EQ tweaks. A lot of people use the QC this way with their existing tube amps and honestly there aren’t many complaints about it.
NOTE 2: In both of the scenarios above, you may need to adjust input and output levels on the QC to play nice with your amp. That said, I would suggest keeping your QC’s input level and impedance settings at their default level (0 dB and 1 Megohm, respectively) while dialing everything in with your amp.
