Cortex Control - Search function help?

I’m getting increasingly frustrated with the Cortex Control search function. I’m trying to do something very simple: search for LEAD tones and audition them one by one. Unfortunately, the search workflow feels broken and extremely clunky. I’ve included a video that shows exactly what I mean.

1) When I search for LEAD and click on a result to audition it, I’m immediately taken to a different location where the preset is stored. The preset I clicked doesn’t activate instantly. Instead, a random preset in that new location often gets activated because it happens to be under my mouse cursor at the moment of the jump. I then have to spend another 1–2 seconds finding the correct preset and clicking it again. On its own this doesn’t sound like a big deal, but when auditioning many tones, it becomes slow and frustrating.

2) After auditioning each preset, I have to click back into the search bar. When I do, the search list resets to the top, so I lose my place and have to scroll down and re-locate where I was every single time.

What I would expect instead is this:

  • Search for LEAD

  • Click the first result and have it activate instantly, without moving me to another location

  • Use the up/down arrow keys to quickly audition the remaining presets in the search results

Is the search function currently broken, or am I missing something in how it’s supposed to work?
