Amp Block bypass volume - Gain Stagging

I’m reading the article below and I have a doubt about bypassing the blocks to check if volume stills the same to avoid gain stagging

Gain Staging - Quad Cortex Wiki.

“Add the blocks you need for your tone, keeping each block close to unity gain (bypassing the block shouldn’t change the overall volume too much). This is a good starting point and can result more consistent patches.”

Do I need to do this with the Amp Block too?
The amp block gives me a volume bump so should I turn the output down to match my DI?

It’s not meant as a rule but as a suggestion to check if what you are doing is intended. If you add a block that you want to boost the signal with, then that is perfectly fine.

You don’t need to match your DI signal. In fact you would most likely want it louder. Just make sure that the processed signal doesn’t clip.
