After multiple months of troubleshooting, I will no longer be using the Quad

in this video, at 0:23-0:24 or the last few seconds there’s a kind of hiss which becomes noticeable when u let ring a note. When you guys say your QC is totally silent, you mean you don’t have that hiss?

i get hiss if im facing my monitor, but i guess that’s because of the LED’s

I have switched up to using instrument cables instead of XLR (outputs 1 and 2) and am using 3/4 now. The reason for this is because I am using an powered mixer, but I have 2 inputs on it that bypass the mixer completely and just feed my QC raw signal direct into the power channels of the PA/Mixer so i can have unaffected signal and coloring, and those 2 inputs are 1/4".

I will report soon if this stops any of the bootup when plugged in noises, to see if this is just somethjing affecting using 1/2 xlr outputs

also hope you all had a merry xmas, and will have a happy new year

I started having a ground loop issue, more of a hum than a hiss, but when I tried to troubleshoot it, I just went crazy… Then, I read this forum, up one side and down the other, and found people saying “plug an output from the QC into another device like an amplifier or FRFR (or an audio interface). It doesn’t matter what it is as long as it is headed to the mains ground via the amp or FRFR or interface. That totally solved it for me… Not sure if it was a grounding issue with the QC or something in my circuit in my home. Computers, lighting, all kinds of devices that can contribute to a 60 cycle hum. But I do know that this forum is an amazing resource, and I thank you for that.

hey i forgot to follow up on my post, the super “ground” hum only happens if XLR outs are plugged into something when its booted up.

I switched to 1/4" and i can boot the QC from power off without picking up the “ground” hum.
