not exactly sure how to word this, open to suggestions, but it seems a common problem is developing where users accidentally unmute the metronome when using the Tap-Tempo button.
As the Metronome is always running, this results in an audible disruption during a performance.
Maybe the Unmute function could be moved to a safer location, not so prone to accidental pressing?
Or add the capability to turn off the Metronome? I know you can set the volume to 0 as a workaround, but other options wouldn’t hurt
+1. I’ve accidentally done this numerous times. As a secondary workaround, I’ve set each patch to only route metronome to headphones…which was quite a tedious revision to perform.
I accidentally unmuted during a gig. Had drum sounds set in the metronome. And looked at my drummer to blame him. Worked, they all thought it was him. Good workaround
Argh! This hit me yesterday! Don’t know how it happened, but suddenly I was playing back a click through my amp . (Luckily, it was only a rehearsal, but still…) There needs to be a simple and safe way to disable this for live usage.
This is the only Quad Cortex feature that stops it from being a pro unit. Every phone has the ability to run a metronome, so why put it on a modeller that so many use live? This always makes me nervous that it is running at all times.
Personally I’d like to see a global setting to disable the metronome.
I just set the metronome off in a live performance this past weekend. What an AWFUL implementation. Seriously NDSP, fix this. The fact that this could even happen via foot switches is crazy to me!
seems like this one could use a little more traction, maybe a campaign is in order. Has anyone contacted Support directly to inquire if they know how big a pain this issue is?
Assigning it to Headphones only and setting vol to 0 is a decent workaround, but apparently it gets overlooked easily that you can choose whether that’s per Preset or Global. Seems like a lot of users are mistakenly correcting it on one preset only.
I ended up just breaking down and getting a bigger pedalboard, JUST so I can run an additional MIDI foot switch JUST for engaging gig view + tuner. It was worth it just to save that 5-10 seconds to avoid using those footswitches on the right… I am DONE with those dang 2 right most footswitches and that dual mode junk lol well at least until they give us the options to re-assign the tap tempo etc switches …
