Delay Request: Deluxe Memory Man
Please? The analog delay is basically a digital delay with modulation. It doesn’t come close to a memory man style analog delay.
I find it interesting that the QC doesn’t have any devices emulating specific iconic delay units, the DMM seems like a no brainer.
I believe the Circular Delay is based on the Lexicon PCM70. It’s not a literal model of the rack unit, but an emulation of the specific delay algorithm. Would be cool to get some clones though; Echorec, Space Echo, DMM, etc
I am new to the QC, I didn’t know that about the Circular Delay but it is probably the delay I have used the most. I agree, I would love more delay options. Some classics and some of the staples like pitch, swell, and filter delays.
I’m split on this:
I would love to get some more direct emulations of the classic tape and bucket bridge delays (echorec, space echo, memory man) or perhaps some later rarities (EHX 16-second digital delay!).
On the other hand, I’d like to see Neural DSP compete with Strymon and create some new classics, or add new features to the classics. For example, the tape delay in archetype Asato is like an echoplex with space echo style tape heads and it sounds fantastic. More of that please!
I wouldn’t mind that approach either. Honestly I think there is room for both with the current slim selection. I was just commenting on some old requests that seem like obvious inclusions to me. There aren’t that many feature requests for delays, which surprises me with what is currently available.
Someone had mentioned that tape delay in the Asato plugin, it sounds very cool. I would love to see unique stuff like that make it to their flagship modeler, maybe someday.
