Can you share the “hack” in case I miss it. I have an ampero midi controller. Thanks
I just tried this myself as some of my Axe 3 presets are among my favorite and it nailed it. Super excited to be able to “port” those over to QC.
There are a number of ways that this trick can be used to work around the QC’s limited MIDI capabilities. It’s a matter of setting your controller to send three commands for each button push, one to change the QC to another mode, one to trigger the desired change and a third command to set the QC back to the original mode. In my case, I use two Ampero controllers to handle “stomp” commands. In Stomp mode, I program the QC’s buttons to turn the desired blocks off and on. While in use, unless I’m using Scenes, I leave the QC in Preset mode. Each of the Ampero’s buttons are programmed to change the QC to stomp mod, trigger a switch (which turns a block on/off), then a command to set the QC back to Preset mode. Although it sounds elaborate, it takes less than a half second for all three commands to happen. If my description wasn’t clear, send me a PM and tell me how you’d like to use your controller. I’ll do my best to give you specifics for your application.
Yeah, I’m using a 10 button pedal that can send multiple MIDI commands in one button push as well as on the release of the button… Works great!!!
Can you please share how you captured the AXE FX III with the QC?
Neural DSP Support helped me with my answer. See below for those trying to capture their AXEIII.
- Instrument plugged into INSTR1 on QC
- Capture Out on QC plugged into front input of AXE FX III
- INSTR2 on QC plugged into Output 1 on AXE FXIII
Ensure that your routing in AXE Edit is set to the correct Input/Output number.
