Now I can finally detail and save/share my captures I’m going to make a bunch and upload them over the next few days (crappy weather forecast and I’m off work, so why not…).
I’m usually using amp+cab caps but does anyone reckon I should do amp only captures instead - discuss?
They’ll mainly be clean/edge of breakup stuff tailored for my guitars that are all fitted with splittable humbuckers- no Tele or Strat I’m afraid.
Ill be baking in the cabs for my own use, so theyll be done first but I’ll just unplug the cab and go into the permanently borrowed OxBox and do the same amp settings direct. Quick enough with the Nano.
Where is the best place to announce captures to share them? Apart from the obvious decent tags on the file uploads…
Just upload to cortex cloud, then post here saying “hey everyone, I just uploaded some stuff! Check it out!” In-depth descriptions of the gear are always welcome, too
I prefer the tone and feel of a full-rig capture on the QC, but lots of users gig w/ guitar cabs for onstage monitoring and they need the versatility of DI amp head captures.
How’s the signal/volume level on your captures turning out? That’s one of the biggest factors in making them sharable; it seems to be fairly common for user caps to be too quiet. That’d be the main thing I’d look at.
