I have a legitimate warranty claim within the 1 year warranty period, validated by support, and have now shipped the unit to Finland. I have been billed 50 euros for shipping. Is that normal for warranty claims that I need pay for shipping? Seems a bit off.
That sucks. I have a repair situation with a PRS guitar and PRS is paying all shipping costs to USA and back to Canada.
It sucks.
I was charges close to CAD100 for return shipping.
Warranty repair of very common issue: loose input jack. They were both loose - one more than the other. They only fixed one. It took somewhere around 2 months from the day I sent it in…….and they lost my power adapter.
On the good side : I was compensated. They sent new power adapter and gave me one plugin of my choice.
IMPORTANT: take pictures of what you are sending (power adapter too) and how it is packed.
Yes, that is normal for most manufacturers, specifically NDSP. That cost seems entirely reasonable as I’ve heard higher amounts regarding shipping depending on where you are located. Good luck and hope you get it back quickly!
Your local consumer protection law may give you stronger rights.
When they first launched, they promised to have an authorized repair shop in the US. I think they did have one at some point.
NDSP has had an authorized repair facility in CA for a few years now.
That’s cool I didn’t know that. My developed the problem where the input shows -18.1db when nothing is connected. And no sound in or out is there. If I don’t need to ship to Finland for that, that’ll hopefully be faster and cheaper.
NDSP will by default say you must pay for shipping, but that does not supersede your country’s laws. Here in the UK for example they are obliged to cover shipping costs for in-warranty returns by law.
I returned mine to the retailer (Andertons in the UK) at no cost (they arranged the collection) when I had a warranty issue, and they sent it to Neural in Finland, and then back to me, again all at no cost
