It would be great to have all V2 captures phase aligned once they are captured, this will remove the need of adding the “phase doctor” block to the signal chain to fix this and save some DSP. I am sure this is 100% achievable as other platform has already done it. Thanks!
Can you provide more context? What are you trying to phase-align a V2 capture to?
I don’t think all captures would be perfectly phased aligned no matter what. Really depends on the frequencies being used, etc. There isn’t a way to just make all the captures phase aligned since they’re all capturing different material and the frequency spectrum is very different. Even the phase adjustment block doesn’t make it completely perfect. It’s just rotating the polarity which isn’t applying a corrective EQ to match everything
Sure, so, let’s narrow this to AMP Captures (Amp Combo, or Amp+Cabinet).
When you load any 2 captures in stereo parallel paths, depending on the amp configuration and wiring, 1 of the captures can be out of phase with the other one, that is what the “phase doctor” block is trying to fix.
Let’s think that you have a Fender Prosonic in the left channel and the Vox AC30 in the right channel, naturally, due to the configuration of the amps, these 2 are out of phase, you can either flip the phase in the mixer section of the path or add the phase doctor block and reverse the phase between them.
This can be fixed when the V2 training is happening if the signal is compared to a known source and fix the phase.
You mean polarity and not phase then
In that case, would be actually both… reversing the polarity not necessarily mean that both captures will be time aligned.
There’s more that goes into that than time alignment. Are you thinking of Fractal having phase aligned impulse responses/cab sims?
All fractal is doing is removing any silence at the beginning of an impulse response, and making the polarity direction the same so it can more accurately be in phase. But it doesn’t guarantee all impulse responses are perfectly phase aligned, since that’s a much deeper topic

Sorry, I no nothing about Fractal, but IK has managed to make it work, now al V2 captures, no matter what amp is captured it will always be in the same polarity and time aligned with all other captures… it is great to have the phase doctor block, but you need more than basic knowledge to know how to make it work at its full potential.
