I have a Great River ME-1NV that I absolutely love. I initially just ran the ME-1NV directly into one of the inputs of the QC. While it didn’t sound bad, running a Mic Pre into another preamp really does not render the best tone. I discovered you can bypass the on-board preamps by using one of the two effect returns as an input for the ME-1NV.
This allows you to bypass the onboard QC preamps. The results are really good. While the on-board preamps on the QC are very good, using one of the returns as an input allows you to use a wide variety of wonderful-sounding Mic Pres. Whether you are using a guitar or a microphone, the results are worth checking out.
