# Using External Footswitch with EXP1/2

Hey there,  
I don’t know about the technical limitations of the unit, but what about being able to use external momentary footswitches connected to EXP1/2 to assign different custom functions like Midi Messages, turn off Blocks, Looper Functions, Switching Modes, etc etc

For example, I would like to use a TRS Cable to a 2-way momentary footswitch to use the basic functions of the looper without having to open the looper UI.

The implementation can be improved but you can do basic block switching (even for multiple blocks) right now

Has this achieved with most current software? Namely assigning 2 button ext footswitch for looper?

I don’t think it works today… You CAN set one button footswitch - works off TIP of TRS/TS to turn on or off an expression pedal or set on and off effects, etc. But technically if updated properly, adding a 3 momentary switch could work in that port if updated properly, and programitaclly adding functions in the expression block. Tip - switch one, Ring - switch 2, T&R simultaneously - switch 3. This would be GREAT and add 3 more buttons without having to add a midi controller.

PLEASE add this!!!
