Using a latching footswitch in the Expression Port

Hi all,

I am very new to this, so my apologies if this is a silly question…

After years of nagging from my bass player, I have finally decided to take the plunge and get a Quad Cortex. To start off with, I am planning just to replace my amps and use a traditional pedalboard, and then look to replace that with the QC in the longer term.

On my board is a traditional channel switcher, which I have plugged into EXP 1 on the QC to mute two amp blocks on distorted channels, and unmute two blocks on clean channels and vice versa. When going clean to distorted amps, this woulds perfectly. But when going distorted to clean there is a noticeable lag, which looking at the calibration is caused by the QC sweeping from 0% to 100%. Is there a way to stop this so that it changes instantaneously like it does going straight from 100% to 0%?

Thankyou in advance for any guidance offered!

Kind regards

Aled

Have you set up the channel switcher in the QC to be a switch instead of treadle?

If that doesn’t help you can do the same set up using one of the QC footswitches, assign it to all 4 amps, with the starting state of 2 [on, and the other 2 off.

Thankyou for replying!

Yes I have. It functions as it should, just except for a slight (but noticeable) lag going from distorted amps to clean amps. I don’t seem to have the ‘switch delay’ option illuminated in the video.

I wonder if it is because it is a latching switch with a TS input rather than TRS?

The manual indicates you use a TRS.
