TINA article with QC developers

Very interesting article. Have to note how the say TINA cuts development time for models down to a few days instead of three months as Fender says for the Tonemaster amp models. Also mention how they have used now on ALL their models and plugins.

Well then why is the relase date for the two plugins for which I have licenses aren’t even on the horizon?

If you’re talking about updating existing plug-ins to an ‘X’ version, they have to rebuild the plug-in itself to be compatible on both computer and QC platforms. It shouldn’t have anything to do with TINA.

it does seem to raise some questions - if SEVERAL TINAs have been in use for the past few years, seems like there’d be more devices released. Perhaps there’s an archive they’ll start dropping from with this new Cortex unit arriving soon.

There’s a couple interesting points in the article, well worth a read

We are still waiting for the ‘TINA thing’ to translate to new amps for everyone on the QC …

Last time we saw new amps ‘for everyone’ (‘Victor Squid’ and ‘Matchmore D30 + Jefe’) it was more than 1 year ago (21 August 2023) with 2.1.0 …

If TINA is not marketing BS , we should see several new amps with 3.1 , right ?

they seem to have a way of confounding expectations, but we shall see.
Oh how I hope we shall see. (staying optimistic)

An effects, and synth block too !!!

This then makes the NC even stranger though - the company has spent loads of money creating a machine to model amps super fast, but then they bring out a mini device that does captures only?

If so easy to just do a TINA capture why even screw around with converting plugins just make new amp models for the QC.

PCOM was a major part of the marketing when they announced the unit, and originally released it. They kinda put themselves in a corner to make those happen. Never forget that NAMM (I think it was there) interview clip where someone from Neural says porting the plugins will be really easy.

It’s definitely beneficial for them to port the plugins to QC, and I’m not mad they are. Honestly makes me want to use their plugins more in Pro Tools if I can duplicate the sound on the QC later for live use.

Would have been great for them to release a modeler of this size that could load their actual amp models. I think their models sound a lot better than Line 6, and profiles on Kemper. Fractal models do sound really good as well, but the QC form factor is way better than anything they have for what I need.

If I understand what TINA is, this will introduce a slew of new amp models. It’s essentially the holy grail of capture…not just a gain capture (like we’ve had for years now), but an entire amp capture. It’s really limitless…when you download an amp capture, it will be of an actual amp, and the it will allow you to dial in all of the knobs (gain, bass, treble, mid, volume, etc) on the QC (and maybe even the Nano Cortex), and it will act just like (or very close to) the physical captured amp. If it works, it will be sick!

I think this will be how they’ll model amps, and not use it for some sort of interactive capture that you’re describing .

But that is what TINA is, an interactive capture robot.

Read their announcement TINA has played a key role in creating the plugins already.

For helping them make models of the amps

Cutting developement time drastically.

Sounds nice !

Maybe the agressive plan to add more amps, effects and more will finally begin !! :pray:t2:
