Add spillover/trails between presets, similar to how there is with scenes. I wish I could change songs and have my wet effects not cut off immediately.

This is systematically not possible, and that’s what scenes are for (same problem like with the switching gap).
The QC is a computer that has a processing power and memory bandwidth limitation - for this to be able it would need have two presets in the memory at the same time. It could work theoretically if any preset would be limited to only 50% of both memory and processor, and AFAIK that’s what the Helix does.
However, using scenes is reasonable. Clever programming presumed, you can still have several completely different sounds accessible through scenes in one preset, and then change the preset between songs.

My Fractal AX8 has the same limitation. Nature of the beast, I suppose.
